Dear Friends of the Global Social Business Summit,

Now that the GSBS is almost knocking at the door, we are delighted to share more details about the specific program that awaits you in Wolfsburg!

FOOD & ITS VALUE

Food is an important topic in everyday life – for people in developing countries where famines and malnutrition are faced, as well as for developed countries, where people are looking for healthier diets and a more socially responsible consumption.
As the number of population is coming closer to 8 billion people, the food production as well the production extent will have its consequences.

The way of the global industrial food production is reaching its limits and needs to be changed into a sustainable one. But the production is not only causing challenges – it can also include solutions on how malnutrition can be avoided. It can work against diet-related illnesses as diabetes and can be changed in a way that prevents water waste, soil depletion, and climate change.

Therefore, one of our 5 main topics for this year’s Summit is the topic of Food & Its Value. As the number of population is coming closer to 8 billion people, the food production as well the production extent will have its consequences.

ABOUT THE FOOD EXPERT PANEL

This year’s Food panel at the Global Social Business Summit welcomes experts who will discuss how social businesses act differently in terms of food production in order to create a new civilization, which respects nature and environment. The food problem will be looked at from a different perspective, namely how it can be a solution for several social and human aspects.

On November 9th, the 2nd day of the GSBS, you can expect great impulses and discussions at our expert panel together with Jean Bernou – former CEO McCain Europe, Yukoh Satake – CEO Grameen Euglena, Japan, and other speakers around the food topic.
